My mechanic actually showed me a failed diaphragm from a 2.0 TFSI Audi engine, failed around similar mileage to mine (50k), which he said is very poor indeed. Should last til around 100k. Issue was that the 2 litre PCV is £80 whereas the S4 is £500 excluding labour! Yesto all your points.
